Don is proud to train with Bakersfield Budo and will be conducting weekly handgun training, from beginner to advanced, starting January 17, 2012. Classes will take place in the Bakersfield Budo dojo located at 6801 White Lane, suite E-3. Don is the founder of firearms training conducted along the same lines as oriental martial arts. Come join us on Tuesdays. Defensive shooting is a martial art.

CCW COURSES
California CCW classes are not all the same. Train with the most qualified and experienced instructor you can find because your life may bet on it. Use the contact page to e-maail for class dates. A multi state ccw course is also available and private lessons for individuals and groups are a specialty.

Private CCW
lessons are also available as an option for the student who prefers one on one instruction.

HANDGUN

The training offered surpasses most law-enforcement and military firearms training. These courses are for serious students who wish to take their concealed carry weapon (CCW) and tactical training to higher levels.

LEVEL 1
A one day course starting with the basics. Safety, lecture on defensive handgun, presentation from ready and holster, loads and malfunctions, multiple targets, and failure to stop are among the techniques taught at this level. This full day also involves low light and no light shooting.
Cost : $275

LEVEL 2
This one day course builds upon the fundamentals taught in level one. Beginning with a review of level one skills, longer distances, refining techniques, close quarter drills and more, ending with low and no light shooting for a full day of instruction.
Cost : $300

LEVEL 3
This is our advanced course. Positions, recovery drills, shoot-no shoot decision making and much more is lectured, dry practiced and live fired in an intensive two day course.
Cost : $450

TACTICAL HANDGUN
The best shooting skills in the world may find a practitioner at a disadvantage without tactical skills. Proper use of cover and concealment, movement, lecture on the tactical rules and practical decision-making scenarios are presented. An eye-opening full day course. Since this course emphasis is on tactics, any other small arm may be used.
Cost : $300

COMBAT MASTER HANDGUN
The highest level of handgun skills. Put all the other levels together plus even more new techniques to make you the best you can be. Only a couple of dozen people in the world have successfully tested at this level. Anyone who has challenged themselves with this level of training can be confident in any close encounter of the worst kind on this planet.
Cost : $575

Think of the above skill levels as a martial art progressing from white belt through black belt (level three) to the Combat Master level.

SHOTGUN
A full one day course that includes safety, lecture, myths and misconceptions, stance, mounting, loading, tactical loading, start and shooting positions, scoring, self-defense drills are some of the techniques learned. The day ends with a low light session. The student’s confidence with the shotgun will be vastly improved.

PRACTICAL RIFLE
One or two day courses that will put the student’s skill level above the average soldier. Center fire rifles in any action with no or low magnification optics suggested. Safety, lecture, dry practice and live fire drills will allow the operator to perform techniques at an advanced level.

PRECISION RIFLE
Two days including one evening of low/no light shooting. Lecture, zeroing, bullet drop and click adjustment data, shooting positions, range estimation and realistic shooting situations are among the activities. Competitive, tactical and hunting skills will all benefit from this course.

HUNTING, BIG AND DANGEROUS GAME RIFLE
A challenging one day course for the serious hunter. Why spend lots on a hunt and neglect necessary rifle skills? Safety, lecture, zeroing, range estimation, varying distance and techniques needed for successful world wide hunting. A good portion of the day is live fire exercises on realistic targets from field position. Most big game movement occurs at dawn and dusk. Low light shooting completes this full day. Precision rifle recommended, but not mandatory prior to this course.

Hunting Rifle student requirements:

FOUR WEAPON COMBAT MASTER
The ultimate tactical firearms level. Disciplines include handgun, shotgun, rifle and submachine gun. Due to California laws the handgun, shotgun and rifle three weapon format will be taught at the Bakersfield site. Exceptions will be made for those students who can legally possess submachine guns in the state of California. Three days of intensive dry practice and live fire drills followed by the skills test. Our other courses are highly recommended prior to this advanced level course.

SCENARIOS
“If the mind is right, the sword is right.”

This course hones the mind with very realistic practical scenarios. The course starts with a review of safety and tactical techniques, then moves on to scenarios strictly scripted with role players allowing the student to make real world decisions. The student’s attendance on one of our rifle, shotgun or handgun classes along with our tactical handgun will prepare them for this essential course.

DEFENSIVE KNIFE
Learn modern life-saving skills with your edged weapon. A full day of training that teaches techniques that will boost the student's confidence in the emergency use of the knife.

LADIES SELF DEFENSE OPTIONS SEMINAR
A three hour seminar designed for familes, workplaces, and/or church groups. Advantages and disadvantages of many self-defense options will be discussed. A very popular seminar for ladies groups of any size.
